Design Manager | Graphic Design and Advertising
Manages senior and junior designers and outside vendors. Works closely with business and production manager on schedules and budgets for projects. Meets with various departmental clients to discuss scope, design, budget, and schedule of projects. Presents preliminary designs, comprehensives, and complete layouts for review and approval for jobs such as exhibitions, invitations, brochures, advertisements, signage, posters, newsletters, and magazines. Works with internal and external members of exhibition design team (curatorial staff, Exhibition Design and Production, Exhibition Budget Administration, Frame Shop staff, Art Handlers, Output Service Bureaus, silkscreen installers, wall graphics installers) to design, prepare, and install exhibition graphics, such as exhibition identity, title walls, wall texts, graphics murals, photo blow-up reproduction, and object labels. Reports to Creative Director.
Requirements: Bachelors of Fine Arts or Masters of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and 5-7 years’ design and production experience, including 2 years as a senior designer or art director or equivalent. Excellent design ability with thorough knowledge of exhibition design and print production. Great organizational skills. Outstanding ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent job management skills. Proactive problem solving proficiency. Ability to work well under pressure. Adept at finessing outstanding working relationships with a wide variety of personality types. Thorough knowledge of QuarkXpress, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. Additional knowledge of Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML and CSS preferred. Fluent with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
Graphic Designer | Graphic Design and Advertising
Designs and produces exhibition graphics, print design, collateral materials and advertising. Presents preliminary designs, comprehensives, and complete layouts, for review and approval for jobs such as exhibitions, invitations, brochures, advertisements, signage, posters, newsletters, and magazines. Works with internal and external members of exhibition design team to design, prepare, and install exhibition graphics such as exhibition identity, title walls, wall texts, graphics murals, photo blow-up reproduction, and object labels. Produces complete and final mechanical files for printer. Verifies files match all printer specifications. Reviews blues, matches prints, and composes match prints and makes all necessary revisions until final product is delivered meeting or exceeding all required quality standards and objectives. Reports to Design Manager.

Works directly with the design manager as a team on major exhibition identities. Designs and produces exhibitions graphics and print design collateral materials. Creates marketing materials such as print ads, Out of Home Advertising and viral components. Meets with various departmental clients to discuss scope, design, budget and schedule of projects. Presents preliminary designs, comprehensives, and complete layouts for review and approval for jobs such as exhibitions, invitations, brochures, newsletters, advertisements, signage, posters, and magazines. Works with internal and external members of exhibition design team to design, prepare, and install exhibition graphics, such as exhibition identify, title walls, wall texts, graphics murals, photo blow-up reproduction, and object labels.
