Redux Pictures and Contrasto invite you to the book launch of American Youth on Friday, May 15. From 6 - 7:30pm at St. Ann's Warehouse (38 Water Street, Brooklyn). Janene Outlaw from the New York Times will moderate a panel discussion with Redux photographers Gina LeVay, Mark Peterson, and Nathaniel Welch. Joining them will be photography directors Bill Black (Reader's Digest), Bruce Perez (Redbook), and Allyson Torrisi (Popular Mechanics).
The 240-page photography book examines the newest generation of 18 to 24-year-olds, observing young couples and Mormon missionaries, debutante balls and drunken tailgate stupors, war widows and B-boys, street kids and lobstermen. Work from the book will be exhibited at the New York Photo Festival from May 13 - 17.
An RSVP is required for the book launch. Call 917.902.8515 or email: AmericanYouthLaunch@gmail.com. A reception will follow the launch.
