SLPS XV - New York City

Good News! Slideluck Potshow XV is moving out from under the archway and down the street to the old Tobacco Warehouse. Not only is it more spacious, less noisy, and right on the water - it's one of NYC's most unique and spectacular outdoor venues. We will, however, be pushing up the start time of the slideshow to 8:30 and will wrap up around 10pm.

Wanna be a part of history? At this slideshow potluck we will attempt to claim the title of The Guinness Book of World Records for the Largest Potluck on Earth. Who do we have to beat? A potluck that brought together 602 individual dishes in Phoenix, AZ and was sponsored by Promise margarine. This potluck is about local, seasonal ingredients, so let's not only kick Promise's fat yellow ass, let's do it with real food! In doing so, we will not only be sending a message out about healthy, sustainable food systems, but we'll have a feast of historical proportions.

For our fifteenth Slideluck Potshow in New York City, we will be partnering with The New York Photo Festival. The projection will take place outdoors, in DUMBO, Brooklyn in the Archway Under the Manhattan Bridge - an epic public space that just reopened after nearly 20 years. The theme of the show will, of course, be "Bridges." Keeping in the spirit of the Festival, we will be bringing in some of NY's finest to help curate the show: David Alan Harvey (National Geographic, Magnum, Burn,) Jae Choi (The Collective Shift,) and W.M. Hunt (Hasted Hunt Kraeutler, SVA.)

For this potluck, we want to encourage people to really think about bringing foods, where possible, that are made with ingredients that have been sourced locally!

The potluck, slideshow and afterparty will continue as usual and we are expecting a healthy, spirited, turnout!

Brooklyn Brewery will be providing beverages, so we only ask you to concentrate on bringing something delicious to the potluck.
