SLPS Portland III

SLPS is teaming up with Photo Lucida and Sandbox Studio for PDX's third installment of Slideluck Potshow. Please join us on Saturday, April 25th, for an unforgettable evening!

Photo Lucida, whose mission is to facilitate an increased understanding of the world through photography, takes places every other Spring in Portland and gathers an international set of photographers and reviewers for a week-long celebration of photography. SLPS is pleased to welcome all of the participants of this program to this multimedia slideshow and potluck dinner.

Keep in mind that this is a potluck, so bring on that funky fruitcake, those chicken empanadas, some maki rolls, caesar salad, or a rosemary baked ham. And please don’t forget a bottle of wine or some ice cold brew. Let’s do this right!

Submit your work to SLPS Portland III! This slideshow will feature emerging and established photographers and artists. Photojournalists, painters, fashion and fine-art photographers all present work alongside one another in a relaxed and spirited atmosphere. We are currently seeking cohesive, creative, and thought-provoking submissions.

Businessweek just declared Portland the unhappiest city in the United States. Therefore, the theme of this show is going to be Happiness. Please keep in mind that there is a themed, and an un-themed section of this show! Please visit here for submission guidelines.  Past contributors to Slideluck Potshow include:  The Guggenheim Foundation, Elliott Erwitt, Todd Hido, Elinor Carucci, Martin Schoeller, Alec Soth, Chris Buck, Spencer Tunick, Martin Parr, Nina Berman, Vincent Laforet and many others. The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 13th.

Sandbox Studio, a long time supporter of SLPS, has hosted two events in NYC and the launch of Slideluck in San Francisco. Sandbox PDX just recently opened its' doors to the Portland photo community.
