Slideluck Potshow XIV in NYC

Slideluck Potshow XIV will be taking place on Friday, November 13, 2009 at The Aperture Foundation in Chelsea and is co-curated by Lesley Martin, Aperture's book publisher.

There are going to be some interesting new components to this show! We will be experimenting with an interactive technology to make both your slideshow and potluck experience more dynamic, if you'd like to preregister your phone, click here. After a large outreach to the foodie and farming communities, we should have some really tasty and diverse additions to the table. And, as an ode to the late Irving Penn, we will have a photo booth that is reminiscent of the angular corner of his studio.
For this show, all guests will need to purchase $10 tickets in support of both SLPS and The Aperture Foundation. Due to spatial limitations, this event will be considerably more intimate than recent NYC Slidelucks. If you are serious about securing a spot for this show, we invite you to purchase your tickets immediately!

Beverages will be provided, as we really want to put emphasis on the potluck at this event. In fact, we encourage you to think about the theme, INSIDE OUT, for the potluck as well! Make a pineapple upside-down cake, inside-out rolls, bring "outside" food in, or take an ingredient out and make the recipe differently. We will have a table reserved for all the themed dishes - and please bring your recipe so we know what we are eating!

As we are coming upon the season of giving thanks, SLPS will be accepting fresh produce and/or canned goods for a food drive to benefit the local Soup Kitchen on 9th Avenue and 28th Street. Since 1982, the kitchen has been serving 1200 hot, nutritious meals to the homeless every day.

We are in the midst of getting the Slideluck Youth Initiative up and running again. If you are interested in mentoring, have field trip ideas, or have an old digital camera to donate, please let us know! We will be collecting old DSLRs, point-and-shoots, hard drives and memory cards at the show as well.

I don't know what this Resonate Phone SYNC is but I think it's DOPE how SLPS is always bringing it with the next level technology.
